It says 11 servings per container, so that is 1 serving

  2. It surprising, the largest ingredient is tomato puree, not even the pasta.

  3. It’s low because it’s a small portion, that’s why it’s 11 servings. If you take a tub of ice cream, and make the serving size one bite, and see it has only 30 calories would you say “wow that’s so low calorie!

Keep in mind that entire dish is 2640 calories

My childhood best friend (haven’t spoken in years) is CEO of a company that sells a few frozen food items (I will never name drop)

He said the food option they offer up for the official ingredient lists can actually be changed and adjusted due to some legality issues, before being released, and it’s used often to make products appear healthier than they are

Could he be full of shit? Anyone could be so sure, but at least be mindful that not everyone/everything you read is truthful

I’m surprised too and also I’m going to buy some. I feel like it’s shocking because dinner is usually 400-600 calories and that’s an entire meal for only 240, and it’s probably satisfying

It is lower calorie per gram. That’s 2555 grams and heavy lasagnas can have around 1.5 calories per gram but this one only has about 1 calorie per gram, making it about a third less calorie dense than a potential restaurant lasagna

i just want to see the person who has to cut 11 equal servings of lasagna out of a rectangular pan

  9. Always got confused with the “serving”,

Some food serving will add up to the grams and some servings will be way over.

I’ve been told always look at the serving though and ignore the actual grams/calories.

To answer your question which everyone has answered, there’s like 11 servings so you need to X 11 it to get what the whole meal will be.

You didn’t take a good photo of the ingredients but it looks like meat is the very last ingredient which means there isn’t much of it all. If it had had more protein/meat it would’ve been higher in protein, fat, and calories. The serving size is accounting for a lot of sauce.

Noodles alone are about 200 cals/cup so this is a lower protein cheaper lasagna thar isn’t going to look like that photo.

227 grams is about half a pound. So imagine you’re holding a 1 lb tube of ground beef. Now replace ground beef with that lasagna, half that, and boom, you got 240cal

Measure it by grams (227) and you’ll see how small that portion size is.

Frozen meals always say they have way more servings than they normally do, bc the servings they list are small. If you ever buy a frozen sheet pan dinner or Birds Eye pastas, I find they’re always marked as 4-6 servings but the servings are so small, it’s really 2-4 servings.
