Since i got a crazy deal on my classic, it made more sense to upgrade it vs buying a series II. So i converted my classic Series I to a Series II and it was very easy to do. Took about 2 hours of work. 1.5 hours was the gasket removal and prep for new one. I think the cost was around 300 bucks not including the control tower. The airlift hinge on my BJ made me want one on the classic. Now need to build an outdoor kitchen for all of them…
Added:
Airlift hinge
Front latch
Series II/III metal bands
Mesh gasket-amazon not KJ brand. (Which its identical to my BJ III OEM gasket for Half the price.

Hadn’t even considered that you could change out the bands to add the airlift hinge and latch. Gonna keep that in mind for a future upgrade.
Did it all just fit out of the box or did you have to modify anything to get it to work?
