I had never made bread of any sort before, but with how expensive things are getting and how much bread my household goes through I decided to deal with the upfront cost of the tools so it'd be better off in the long run. The King Arthur Baking website and the recipes there are a godsend, and I followed the recipe for their whole wheat and oatmeal loaf (aside from the fact that I went a little further than substituting brown sugar for maple sugar and replaced about a tablespoon or so of the brown sugar with maple syrup, and that I don't have any golden wheat flour so I just used normal whole wheat) which turned out absolutely fantastic. I'm super proud of myself for managing to do so well the first time! And it tastes just as good as it looks, too!

It looks good. I’ve recently gotten into the habit as well. Did you slice your loaf while still warm?
It looks perfect!
