Hey, i’ve got my kamado for a month now and i have had an issue with the latch two times in the last month with it. I’ve clipped an vid of it if someone has a fix or know what to do!

I think yu’ve got an overbite like I had. You can try adjusting the hinge and how it attached to the bands. Even after multiple attempts I still had an overbite. They ended up sending a new hinge. It wasn’t completely aligned but it was much improved and my latch then worked appropriately.
I think I could fix 100% if I took off the hinge and bent the 2 ears for the upper band attachment back a little but it’s good enough so I don’t mess with it. I swear it’s almost like their manufacturing tolerances are off because these upper parts clearly stuck out too far in both hinges I have
It looks like you’re missing a washer on each side of the nut to push the catch portion on the bottom further out.
