Started with raw scallops, the bits of sauce you can see in the photo are a nut puree of some kind with a nice hit of acidity. What made this dish stand out was the quality of the scallops themselves, big sweet, and firm. This was a common theme at the Fat Rabbit, what really made the dishes stand out was the noticibly superior base ingredients. Especially in the case of the meats

The next round was all the charcuterie options that we ordered: bresaola, culatello ham, and ventricina sausage, and a firm cows milk cheese. I think these meats are why this place has gotten so popular. The bresaola in particular was a cut above the ordinary and a must try. Also pictures here was the only major miss for me in the night which is the beef tartar. It's the big white thing near the back. And yes there is tartar underneath all that bullshit. I guess the intention is to smear the tartar with all that sauce onto the toast it came with, still for me this misses the point of a tartar. It's just way overdressed.

Next up is the "vegetable dishes". Watermelon salad was beautiful, watermelon with a tzatziki like cucumber dressing and a lot of herbage, and some clams for kicks. Also pictured is the swiss chard. If you look closely you'll see that the swiss chard dish is mostly bacon/lardon. Is making your vegetable dish mostly out if pork fat cheating? Yes. Do I care? No.

As a main dish we ordered the lamb neck because I wanted to prove to my wife that white people can properly cook a lamb neck. Unfortunately the neck was cooked fall-off-the-bone, so I guess I failed in my mission. Still an absolutely delicious dish being smothered in a ridiculously rich español-type sauce full of sofrito and more lardon.

Drinks were standard fair, they're really not trying to get very creative, just well executed classics. We tried a few cocktails but ended up mostly sticking to wine.

Summary : Fat Rabbit is serving up a super rich meat heavy menu with stellar ingredients and copious pork fat. Slightly repetitive with the lardon and shaved nuts. I found this place highly economical compared to other restaurants in its class, even taking into account the trip out to St. Catherine's. Bill came to less than 200pp after tax/tip. Left full enough that I couldn't walk properly, and around 6/10 intoxicated.
