This is not a price point I play around in almost ever. I pick this up a few years back from a retail friend of mine at a good deal ($150) and just got around to opening it.
I gave this about 30 mins of air before trying.
Nose is baked plums, cedar, licorice, and cocoa
Palate is full bodied and tannins are very silky with just a hint of mintyness. A very balanced wine.
The finish is long and very enjoyable.
If you have any of these I would hold onto them for a few more years. It is showing great now but with another 5-8 years I bet it will be even better!
I will report back how it changes on day 2.

great detail!
Shafer ages well
I had an ‘08 on my birthday this year and it was spectacular. 2005 still in the cellar and is calling my name every single day. Cheers!
That stuff will go forever. I play more with the relentless and the early 2000’s are still singing
Wow. Great wine.
