I found that Schweppes is great for mixing with Espresso! What other Soda / tonic brands do you recommend?
I’m also making Irish espresso martini’s later this afternoon!

Yeah a normal schweppes is gonna do the job. Else Fever Tree is gorgeous!
But tbh, it really tastes garbage imo😅

Next time try adding simple syrup and a dehydrated bitter orange.
You may also try subbing a sparkling fruit juice.
These types of espresso-tonic-type drinks are my go-to on hot and humid days. ❤️

Fever Tree Tonic. I process the espresso over ice and a thin slice of orange peel and it picks up a great amount of the orange flavor and aromas.

If you’re in the NYC area, Q tonic.

No matter how much I want to, I just don’t like this.

So refreshing! ✨ Espresso tonic is such an underrated combo – crisp, fizzy, and bold all in one glass

No no no. Fever tree. Also, I suggest trying 1:1 30ml of simple syrup and yuzu extract while you’re at it. Espresso Yuzu Tonic is the perfect summer drink

I do it without sweetener. Tonic is sweet enough. A couple dashes of Barrel Aged angostura bitters makes it complex and delicious also

How much espresso is that

Hansen’s used to have the perfect tonic for this. Now it’s just Safeway select tonic which makes great GnT and espresso drinks.

A couple shakes of orange bitters, try it, it will blow you away.

one 7.1oz bottle of topo chico’s lime tonic, 20g elderflower syrup, and one shot of espresso, iced. is my favorite recipe.

Really needs a sweet tonic water imho. The usual suspects often are too harsh for my taste…

I feel like carbonation cuts the viscosity and makes it more bitter compared to water

Tried it once. It was awful.

Besides Fever Tree, Pink House Alchemy makes a great tonic syrup that you can add to sparkling water. It’s a little sweeter than most tonic, and more grapefruity.

I’ve been using a Soda Stream with a squeeze of lime.

I do it with Yuzu juice and a bit of ginger juice. Fever Tree Light tonic. Yummy!

This makes my heartburn worse just by looking at it

Can’t believe how many people suggest Fever Tree for espresso tonics- Fever Tree is very bitter and astringent to me! Clearly Canadian’s sparkling water made the best sparkling espresso drink I’ve ever had- it let the espresso flavour shine through!

This is not a shitpost? Just.. wow.

Vernors is my preference, coming from Detroit

Schweppes indian tonic water is a very overlooked and underrated tonic. Goes great with a tanqueray 10. I stay away from tonics that are sweet. Throw a squeeze of lime in there next time with your espresso tonic

That’s not espresso brother

Espresso sidecar all in one? Espresso is followed by seltzer water designed to cleanse the pallet, so you’re drinking coffee and cleansing the pallet all in one go — you might as well forgo the espresso ..
