Been on the espresso train nearly a year, on my second espresso machine (GCP with Gaggiamate mod, coming from BBE), and had never tried making an affogato.
Oh. My.
This is with the Kirkland (Costco store brand) premium ice cream.
SO good!
Just need to avoid making another one right now.

Get a good decaf if you can. Making affogato at home is life changing

I like mine with a Pirouline, but I’m sure other wafers will do just fine.

Sugar, fat, and caffeine. Make it with chocolate gelato and it’s perfect decadence! Yum!
I have avoided eating sweet food before drinking coffee because it made the coffee taste more bitter to me, even with syrup in the drink.
I tried affogato because of all the happy posts about it. It had the same effect of making the coffee taste bitter but even worse because it was in the same bite.
Am I missing something or do people enjoy the enhanced bitterness and sweetness of the combo?
