From only descriptions during my visit to burgundy I got that Meursault is a very full bodied wine with buttery notes, something that perfectly fits my flavor profile. I broke down and bought a bottle which I could barely afford because I had to try it out. Paired the bottle with scampi with buttery sauce and some bread. No regrets, the pairing was absolutely delicious

Sometimes it’s worth treating yourself 🥂
Christ, I relate – I had my first Chassagne Montrachet about a month ago. Now I’m obsessed with that sur lie, oak-involved flavor profile in my whites. I’m currently trying some Spanish and Portuguese whites that my local shops swear have similar profiles at a lesser cost.
You went to burgundy, and didn’t try meursault? Seems legit…
I would look to CA and specifically southern CA. STH Rita Hills has some amazing Chardonnay at friendlier prices that might scratch your itch. Sandhi and Diatom are two of my favorites.
That’s not scampi, those are shrimp or prawns.
Albert Grivault Clos du Murger Bourgogne Blanc. Meursault that can’t say so, yet.
