A HISTORIC Warrington pub has officially reopened – but as a new Italian restaurant.
Restaurant chain Pesto has confirmed that its newest site, Pesto at The Walton Arms, is now officially open.
The historic Walton Arms pub in south Warrington has been carefully restored and converted into the latest Pesto restaurant following an £850,000 investment.
The development has taken nine weeks to complete, with Pesto stating that the venue is now ‘vibrant and modern, while retaining the character and charm loved for generations’.

In preparation for what is hoped to be a very popular venue and busy opening, Pesto has created more than 50 new jobs.
New staff will work alongside existing team members who have worked at the Walton Arms previously and have now transferred to Pesto.
At the heart of the Pesto concept is a menu based around small plates of traditional and innovative Italian favourites, known as piattini.

“This means that guests get to experience a number of flavours in one meal, and they can tailor their dining experience to meet their appetite and budget,” a Pesto spokesman said.
“Guests can expect a warm welcome from general manager Leanne and her team, along with a family-friendly atmosphere with the authentic Italian flavours that Pesto has become known for across its 11 other sites in the north west and Midlands.”
The bar area offers a familiar feel of comfy chairs, sociable spaces, open fires, cask ales, and a wide array of drinks and cocktails.
