Godi La Vita has built a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most unique dining experiences, thanks to its signature cheese wheel pasta.
Owner and Head Chef, Federico Godi, says the secret to their success has always been about creating more than just a meal.
“We always try to promote ourselves by having something that sets us apart. We want our guests to engage in not only eating, but an experience.”
That philosophy shines brightest with their famous cheese wheel pasta, a dish that has become iconic across Adelaide.

“It’s simple. Cheese. It’s the most authentic Italian experience. Everything comes together in front of your eyes. Pasta is the heart of our menu, we make our pasta in house.”
Since opening nine years ago, Godi La Vita has been buzzing on King William Road, drawing locals and visitors who come for bold flavours and the lively atmosphere.
Central to that energy is the open kitchen, which Federico says transforms every night into something more than dining.

“When we opened the restaurant nine years ago, the open kitchen was amazing. You’re not sitting in a room waiting for something to happen. You can enjoy the atmosphere and see what’s going on around you. It’s like a family evening together.”
Another highlight on the calendar is Pasta & Tunes, which has turned Monday evenings into a celebration of food and music.
“On a Monday, King William Road is usually quiet. So we thought, why don’t we organise an event for the locals and passers-by to enjoy. We wanted to do something a bit different from our usual menu and with the live music, it creates a great vibe in the restaurant.”
The event features a changing set menu paired with acoustic sets from local artists, including Mason Lloyd from The Voice.
“He has a deep, soulful voice, creating a lovely vibe,” says Federico.

True to its spirit of innovation, Godi La Vita is now turning heads with a fiery new creation, the vodka pizza.
“The vodka pizza is something we introduced last year. The vodka sauce is a classic dish in Italy, and is set on fire in front of diners. It has an extra level of flavour.”
Despite the constant creativity, the heart of Godi La Vita remains unchanged. It is a place where authenticity and craft meet theatre and warmth, creating the kind of dining experience people travel to find.
“I’m very happy about the impact Godi La Vita has had on King William Road. We have created an iconic restaurant, where people travel from places like Melbourne and Sydney to see us. So that’s very rewarding.”
From its cheese wheel pasta to vodka pizza, Godi La Vita continues to serve more than a meal. It delivers a performance, a memory, and a reason for Adelaide to keep coming back.
