I understand there are differing opinions on Le Cinq, like all restaurants, so don’t come after me if you had a poor experience here! We thoroughly enjoyed it, so I wanted to share my thoughts. Dined there a few weeks ago.
Our dinner at Le Cinq was truly unforgettable – by far one of the best Michelin-starred or fine dining establishments we’ve ever dined at. The space itself strikes the perfect balance of warmth and elegance, and feels much more inviting than the grandeur of the Four Seasons lobby outside (I think that was in part by the guests, not the FS staff or decor)
The service was flawless: attentive without ever being intrusive, and wonderfully personal. The staff had an easy sense of humor, especially an older gentleman who was absolutely delightful. They explained the dishes and wines in approachable, layman’s terms, which we appreciated as lovers of fine dining but not chefs ourselves. It never felt stuffy – just genuine hospitality that made the entire evening feel special.
The food was nothing short of divine. Each course was a work of art and bursting with flavor. Instead of the tasting menu, we chose two starters, two entrées, one dessert, and the cheese trolley. I began with the caviar, which was splendid, while my husband had the gnocchi – unlike any we’ve had before, whether in the States or even Italy. For my entrée, I ordered the sea bass with buttermilk and caviar (I could eat caviar for every meal, so for me, the more, the better). It was one of the best I’ve ever had – so perfectly prepared it hardly needed a sauce at all. My husband chose the famous Spaghetti Gratin, a Le Cinq signature, and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
For dessert, we shared the Spicy Victoria Pineapple – absolutely fantastic. And be sure to come hungry! From the amuse-bouche to the pre-desserts to the chocolate trolley, you’re treated to an endless array of exquisite bites.
The thoughtful touches made the evening even more memorable: takeaway chocolates, a pastry for the next morning, a rose, and even a photo of us to remember the night.
We dined at both Restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse in Paris and Le Parc in Reims a few nights prior, and Le Cinq was definitely the standout.

Le Cinq is very expensive…. Extremely, but if you have the money it’s indeed an experience worth having.
I agree with you, everything was absolutely flawless when we went a couple of years ago
I can’t agree with you more. This was one of the most amazing dining experiences I’ve ever had and I’ll never forget it for the rest of my life. I was concerned that it would be too uncomfortable and the food would be too unapproachable but they way that staff makes you feel like royalty while simultaneously making you feel at home is a masterclass in hospitality and service.
I can smell that first pic! I miss French cheese carts, And allowing the cheesemonger/server to choose the cheeses for me, so I broaden my palate.
Been many times over the years. Cannot say I was impress lately. May have to do with the fact the chef seems to be away from the kitchen most of the time…
