London has a new destination for indulgence. Bombolone Doughnuts has opened in Piccadilly, offering handcrafted brioche-style doughnuts, artisanal sandwiches, and specialty coffee in the heart of the city. Each creation is meticulously considered, blending flavour, texture, and artistry to evoke the warmth and joy of la dolce vita – brightening even the most autumnal London days.
Sonia and Paweł lie at the heart of the bakery, having discovered their passion for bombolone while travelling through Tuscany. Driven to bring a genuine taste of Italy to London, they carefully source ingredients, rigorously test recipes, and craft each dish to combine flavour with Italian artistry. And Londoners have already awarded Bombolone their seal of approval – within just weeks of opening, Bombolone has already secured its top ranking place on TripAdvisor as the #1 bakery in the city.
At the centre of Bombolone’s offering are its signature doughnuts, made from scratch from 4am each morning using only the finest ingredients, including real vanilla pods and authentic Italian mascarpone. The menu features Pistachio Amore with white chocolate glaze and a nutty finish, Mama Mia Tiramisu! with espresso cream and cocoa dust, Apple Pie di Nonna with spiced apple and caramel, and Vanillissimo, a classic filled with vanilla cream and finished with white chocolate. Each doughnut is adorned with intricate decorations, making them as delightful to look at as they are to savour.
Bombolone also goes beyond just doughnuts, capturing a complete Italian landscape. Its brioche sandwiches include Pastrami Bravo with smoky pastrami and melted cheese, Salmone Perfetto with silky salmon and whipped cheese, Chicken & Avocado with zesty lemon mayo, and Mozzarella Classica with ripe tomato, basil, and balsamico. Its coffee is also standout, created from a signature Moresso blend of ethically sourced Arabica beans, roasted to reveal chocolate notes, gentle sweetness, and bright, fruity undertones. Pistachio and Salted Caramel Affogatos, along with a selection of seasonal Italian drinks, complete the drinks menu, making Bombolone a perfect stop for both indulgent treats and casual coffee moments in central London.
Bombolone can be found at 21 Whitcomb Street, London WC2H 7HA. You can dive into the menus and experience a taste of la dolce vita ahead of your visit right here.
