Sorry about the glowing empanadas, realized the background had some identifying info and had to cut it out

New truck over in Hyde Park in the parking lot behind Quacks serving Venezuelan food. Picked up chicken and beef/bean/plantain/cheese empanadas, $8.50 before tax/tip. Had to run them home since it looked like it could rain at any time, but they held up well for the short trip. Nice crisp and flaky crust with a little pleasant chew, just a bit sweet but not excessively. Filled well and both the chicken and “pavilion” fillings were tasty and correctly seasoned for my taste without being salty. I enjoyed getting a different ratio of the components in each bite of the latter. Sauces were mayo based chipotle and garlic. They were both good but I’d probably choose something with more heat or acidity in the future

Idk anything about this type of food but enjoyed this small lunch and will be back to try other items. They also have arepas, pastelitos, and bowls. Open for lunch and dinner most days and a nice addition to the general area which has been on quite a roll in recent years with spots like Feral, PThai, All Day, Superdaily, etc

  2. The owners are really nice and down to earth. Had a chance to attend the soft opening and got to sample all their food. Definitely go visit them and try the food out, y’all love it.
