  2. I’m very curious about the gardening soil. I have noticed that Indian gardeners seem to use actual soil in their gardens mainly and westerners mainly use gardening mixes made from peat moss, pearlite, compost, fertilizers, etc, but rarely any actual topsoil unless they are large scale farmers. We are told that using soil in our raised garden beds or potted plants is not good. Can anyone from India tell me what their perspective on this is because my intuition says that healthy soil is obviously where plants should be grown, but I am completely new to gardening.
