A few inches of chopped alder decomposed by shittake mushrooms on the bottom with a mix of garden dirt, homemade compost, potting mix and organic fertilizer. The pot is actually a few inches taller than that but I stopped short thinking I needed room to cover emerging taters, but they stayed underground. I could have hilled higher and maybe increased production. This was the best of six pots.
