Nespresso pop not brewing

i tried to use my nespresso and when i put the full water tank back on the machine it started leaking from the water tray, i was running late for work so i didn’t really investigate it then and just left, after looking at it more today i noticed this rubber piece near the machine and im assuming it goes somewhere around the water tank but cant figure out where it goes, what does your water tank and the holder look like ? does this rubber piece go somewhere
