I was so excited to cook my own wagyu steak as i had never done so before. this is a mb4-5 Australian grainfed wagyu picanha and it turned out great! reverse searing gave it a wall to wall medium rare (although next time I woll try medium instead since its wagyu) and the ample fat on this cut gave it a legendary crust. so fatty and melt in your mouth.

to make the wagyu steak feel even more special I went and cooked a cheap striploin for comparison. while the strip was cooked decently it made the wagyu taste like butter while the strip felt like a leather boot in comparison 😂

what do you guys think?

The other steak looked at the wagyu be like “damn I wish I had the parents that she has”

Until the day I die, I will never understand this subs insistence on preslicing amazing looking steaks.

A little rare for me, but it looks like you nailed it. What type of sauce is that?

Outstandingly beautiful. And all the sides, the presentation, looks like a $$$$ steakhouse dinner.

Amazing, grey band is near humanly perfectly thin.

If you’re new to wagyu, don’t go any higher on the marbling. Highly marbled Wagyu is not good as a steak, it’ll clog your arteries. They’re better as Korean or Japanese bbq where you have thin little strips that get cooked to well done then eaten with side dishes. We tried a couple A5 as steaks and couldn’t finish them.

Marvelous. Try putting that tomato vine in the pan after removing the steak, searing and getting a nice blister for an extra kick of flavor.

Looks unbelievable well done!! (Not the steak). A steak house / butcher shop where I live in FL is big on the Australian waygu. Never disappoints!

  10. Looks awesome! The side by side of the wagyu with the clearly not wagyu makes me laugh when I see it though
