i really love old dry Riesling. It gets that honey character that i really enjoy

  2. Chenin can last forever. Tonight I’m trying a 25 yr old Coteaux du Layon.

Edit: chateau Piegue 2000. Quite dark gold. Sweet grapy muscaty nose. Surprising zing of acidity at first sip. Balanced by rich oily caramel/butterscotch sweetness.

My favourite is probably Riesling. I recently had a German one from the 1970s and it was great.

Riesling is the obvious go to (and I’d be up to my ears in it if offered 😂) but my choice would be timarasso or jura white. Love aged chein in the right hands too 🤦

Well since you brought up chenin, quarts du chaume.

I just had some 2015 Pieropan Calvarino and 2015 Pieropan La Rocca; both were exquisite.

Well aged Chenin Blanc can be divine. Jealous on your 2010 Chenin!

  8. Oaked whites with lees work can age really well, regardless of varietal.

As unoaked, its trickier. I’d say riesling and grenache blanc can age surprisingly well.
