The Eureka Woman’s Club recently welcomed guest speaker David Reed, development director of Food for People, who talked about the local food bank’s many programs.
“Unlike food banks in larger metropolitan areas that often specialize in a single function, Food for People serves as a multifaceted lifeline for Humboldt County,” a Eureka Woman’s Club press release said. “From delivering food to some of the most rural communities, to acting as the designated emergency food storage facility for the county, Food for People plays a critical role in ensuring food security. Each month, the organization serves over 21,000 people and provides resources to nearly 100 partner agencies across the county.”
In appreciation of its work, the Eureka Woman’s Club presented Reed with a $300 donation to support Food for People’s mission.
