Welcome to my series where I make the Italian meals I grew up eating for my family. This one’s a summer classic. Grilled chicken brusqueta with caprese pasta salad. One of the number one phrases I remember my mom saying growing up was, “Get out of my kitchen.” There was usually like three of us right underneath her feet while she was trying to cook something. My kids aren’t quite old enough where I can kick them out of the kitchen yet. My mom and dad always made easy meals like this one, bruschetta or brusqueta. They would take the tomatoes, the basil right out of the garden. With my family, I’m looking for quality and quantity. I want this to last throughout the week. So, I make a big pot of pasta salad. I do two chicken breasts because I’ve never met a kid who eats chicken breast. So, we got something for everybody. The chicken breast for the parents, the little mozzadel balls for my son. My kids are always hanging around while I’m cooking. You can sometimes hear them in the background. I always want my kids to feel welcome in the kitchen, but occasionally you’ll still hear me say, “Everybody out of the

You left the core of the tomato in the salad. Yuk.
I think what she says holds some truth. But because we are territorial it would never work on a grand scale. I think many people would want multiple partners but would never want their partners having someone else. And that's just not realistic. So to make it simple we just do monogamy.
