    The braising liquid looks thin and watery. It doesn’t even look like you braised short ribs. It looks like you simply poured water over the ribs and washed off some of the seasoning. I can’t imagine the braising liquid tasting like anything but a light broth. If I’m braising beef, I’m making a thick, velvety, rich, luxurious sauce. It’s not going to drip straight off of my mashed potatoes. It’s not going to collect in a thin, watery pool all around my food. It’s going to cling to the food. There is no way this sauce clings to the back of a spoon. There is no way the sauce can cling to my palate. Look at the broccoli drowning in a pool of Campbell’s beef broth. I bet it drips when you pick it up. You bite into the broccoli and you get an explosion of beef water. Mmm, nice juicy beef brotholi.
