Damn, makes me wish I was still in California. One of my coworkers has a tree in her front yard and would bring in bags of them to the office.
I can’t find them in any of the markets here in the Portland OR area.
I used my last haul to make sorbet. You can also sub them for lemons by making passion fruit bar cookies and they are phenomenal!

David Lebovitz has a great recipe. I always have success with it

I’ve just finished eating my last batch of white chocolate ice cream with a passionfruit swirl. It works really well, and also is great with a chocolate fondant.

If you have patisserie skills, make a passion curd and turn that into ice cream, if not you can try this and sub the lemon for passion….!
Mine have been coming in too, so there is a coconut dessert I do (it’s a replica of one from Le Bernardin. Passionfruit, being a textural experience, along with the flavor would lose a lot if you turned it into an ice cream (also it’s a bitch to strain the seeds out) but if you use it as a topping (perhaps cooking the pulp with sugar) then it goes great on ice cream or even coconut ice cream.

I made a passion sherbet this year and it was outstanding!!! If you have an over productive vine my best tip is to get a blender with a DULL blade; empty a bunch of fruits into the pitcher and let it go on the slowest setting for a while. It’ll separate the pulp and juicy from the seeds very very nicely leaving behind luscious juice ready to play with

I love passionfruit and the passionfruit might be my favorite ice cream, it’s incredible. I prefer a custard based recipe (egg yolks) and make a passionfruit mousse to go on top, it’s quite easy. I leave the seeds in both.

It’s so good as an ice cream or sorbet but also as a jam you can swirl into an ice cream! Or curd you can swirl in as well yum!

I love passion fruit so much that my husband grew vines for me.
It’s not ice cream, but I highly recommend that you make Edd Kimber’s passion fruit caramels.
