I’ve been thinking of adding a smoke generator/Heavy D diffuser
Has anyone done something similar? 🍻

Looks like it’s smoking just fine

If you think you’d like cold smoking it’s a no brainer. I have a smokai. Cold smoke a lot in the cold months, actually bought a small cooler that I’m going to use to cold smoke in warmer months. I also run it any time I’m doing a smoke and it’s the closest I’ve come to the smoke flavor of a stick burner.

There’s was someone who did a review on both the Heavy D and the Notorious PIG cold smoker by the same company. He said he was getting better flavor from the cold smoker, and it was easier to work with.

Smoke tube?

I have a woodwind pro and using the smoke drawer with chunks helps a lot, so the heavy d should as well. The biggest thing I’ve noticed about getting flavor with pellets (in pellet grill or just a tube in a gas grill) is that the lower the temp the better. I mean, it’s always that way, but more pronounced with pellets. They work best for cold smoking, but if you use a tube below 200 for the first couple hours you should get much better flavor. High temp like everyone says to do now, 275 or whatever, even with the tube it just makes more smell but not flavor in my experience.
