Hello! This is my first time making a charcuterie board and I need some help planning.

My boyfriend is a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan so I'm planning a extended edition movie marathon for his birthday (and yes, I know it's like 11.5 hours lol)

Do these menus look like everything will pair nicely?

Is this too much food? It's just gonna be the two of us but we will also be taking smoke breaks so the munchies will definitely be hitting lol

I'm open to any suggestions you have!

  1. I love the theme, but this is a lot of food for 2 people

You will end up with a lot of leftovers!

It’s a lot of food but looks amazing! I say go for it and just try and buy smaller pieces of cheese to limit portion sizes. I’d also suggest just doing Brie for the last board but keep the cherries and pecans.

Also, maybe you can serve the mini main at a different time the the boards (like one at the beginning and one in the middle) to help encourage hunger.

Every time I make a charcuterie board for me and my partner, we plan to follow it with a main and end up pushing it to the next day lol

Just do the board and skip the cooking! Aim for 3 cheeses, 3 meats, 2/3 fruits, 3 veg/pickles, crackers, nuts and a chutney. You’ll be stuffed!

I know people are saying it’s a lot of food, but a *lot* of this stuff you can store away and have another charcuterie in a few weeks for another occassion (like Halloween movie night).

I love variety and this is how husband and I do it. I buy a bunch of different smoked meats, cheeses, and crackers. And it lasts 2-3 more evenings.

I just don’t take out/cut everything at once. And if we have leftovers, I stick the perishables in the fridge and wrap the crackers etc seperately to be left out, and we have it as a snack the next day for brunch.
