September 22, 2025 (San Francisco, CA) — The Asian Wine Association of America (AWAA) is pleased to announce its partnership with the de Young Museum, part of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, to provide wines crafted by Japanese American and Japanese affiliated member wineries for the Donor and Member Receptions preceding the official opening of the exhibition Art of Manga on Thursday, September 25.

Through this collaboration, AWAA advances its mission of championing the wines and heritage of Asian American and Asian affiliated vintners in the United States. By engaging with cultural institutions and community partners, AWAA seeks to foster greater visibility for Asian American wines while contributing to a broader cultural dialogue that celebrates diversity, heritage, and artistry.

“It is a dream come true to honor the cultural impact of Japan by providing excellent wines made by Japanese American and Japanese affiliated vintners at the pre-opening receptions of Art of Manga,” said Susan R. Lin, Master of Wine, President and Co-Founder of the Asian Wine Association of America. “We are proud to partner with the de Young Museum and thank them for this opportunity to showcase Asian American wines.”

The Art of Manga exhibition, presented by the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, explores the rich history and cultural significance of manga, from its roots in Japan to its global influence. More information on the Donor and Member Receptions can be found at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco website, and details about AWAA’s participation are available here. The wines of Mikami Vineyards, LangeTwins Winery, and Ridge Vineyards will be showcased.
