For real, Queens is where it’s at.
It’s past season now but I *highly* recommend checking out the Queens Night Market when it’s running. You don’t get the full menu from anywhere, but it’s the most densely diverse celebration of cultural foods I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing.
It is hard to beat Queens. I am a native Manhattanite (212), and I find myself going to Flushing, or Jackson Heights often, the former being the best. Manhattan is great too, but different.
Seriously, Queens is the only place where you can eat Tibetan momos, Colombian arepas, Filipino halo-halo and Greek souvlaki, all on the same block. And you don’t need to bring a passport, just an empty stomach and a MetroCard 😉
