End of seasons harvest strategy?

The temperatures have dropped significantly here in Finland and it is time to harvest all tomatoes. What is your preferred method for harvesting unripe tomatoes in the end of the season?

1. A single layer of tomatoes in a box
2. Hang the whole plant upside down indoors
