MIDLAND, MI – If you’re looking for a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, hold a fancy business meeting or to simply try something different, executive chef Theo Bawar says Cafe Zinc could be the place to go.

Cafe Zinc is attached to The H Hotel in Midland located at 111 W. Main Street.

The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes. They also have a takeout counter for those who want to grab an Illy specialty coffee with a fresh baked treat.

Bawar said the Benedict dishes and omelets for breakfast, the sandwiches paired with the French onion soup for lunch and the scallops and half roasted chicken dish for dinner are some of the most popular dishes among their customers.

They change the menu items three times per year, Bawar said.

“We try to do more of the Mediterranean feel,” Bawar said. “We try to do our best. We try to be as creative as much as possible.”

Being the executive chef for both ONe eighteen and Cafe Zinc at The H Hotel is a bit demanding Bawar said, but with the amazing team that they have, they continue to be successful.

“The support is great, the creativity is there, the dedication is there so I can’t do anything without my direct supports and also the team,” he said.

Even though ONe eighteen and Cafe Zinc are under the same umbrella of The H Hotel, Bawar said they do differ in ambiance and menu items.

“There’s quite a few things that we serve here that no one else would in the area,” Bawar said. “We just try to be a little bit different with our menus as much as possible.”

Bawar added that their pastry chef is from France and creates a variety of decadent pastries and breads in addition to their dine-in menus. Customers can order larger versions of the desserts available and can purchase fresh bread when they visit.

To order cakes, Bawar said they ask for a 72-hour notice to prepare it and customers can stop in or give the restaurant a call at 989-837-6030 to place the order.

Bawar said he hopes all customers will have a great experience and meal when they visit.

“From the front of the house to the back of the house, we all share the same vision to take care of our guests,” he said.

Cafe Zinc is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
