Who doesn’t love Homemade Tzatziki sauce; it blows the store bought stuff out of the water. Tzatziki sauce, with its roots planted in greek and Turkish cuisine, offers a crisp and tangy component to roasted vegetables, salmon, beef and chicken. Using only whole healthy ingredients, this Tzatziki sauce is delicious and guilt free. In minutes, you can have the best and freshest Tzatziki sauce on the internet in your kitchen!

Ingredients:
– 2 1/2 Greek yogurt
– 1 Large cucumber
– 6 Cloves of garlic
– 1/2 Small red onion
– Juice of 1 & 1/2 lemons
– Salt
– Pepper
– Dill
– Mint

Directions:
– Slice one end of the cucumber and using a box grater, grate the cucumber down.
– Next grab a strainer and bowl and strain the liquid from the cucumber pulp. Add salt to draw out extra moisture. Lastly run through cheese cloth
– Grab a small red onion and cut in half. Take your halted red onion and thinly slice
– Take garlic cloves and thinly slice them; take thinly sliced garlic and add coarse salt and grind to a paste
– Clean and pat dry your herbs, dill and mint
– Once herbs are dry, finely chop for Tzatziki
– Slice lemons in half, and juice into mesh strainer/bowl
– Grab a large mixing bowl and add Greek yogurt, cucumber, red onions, garlic, dill, mint, lemon juice and salt and pepper and give a good mix
– Taste for salt and pepper amounts and season accordingly

– Red onions can be omitted for more traditional Tzatziki recipe

– Removing cucumber waters allows for a crisper bite
– Soaking slice red onions in cool water for 20-30 minutes removes harsh onion bite

[Music] Let’s make some delicious taziki sauce. Using a box grater, let’s coarsely grate our cucumber. Next, grab a mixing bowl, mesh strainer, and strain the liquid from the cucumber. Don’t forget to add salt to draw out the moisture. Lastly, strain through a cheesecloth. Using a mandolin or chef knife, thinly slice a red onion and place in cool water. Using thinly sliced garlic and coarse salt, we’ll make a garlic paste. Wash, dry, and cut our herbs. This recipe uses fresh mint and dill. In a large mixing bowl, add Greek yogurt, strained cucumbers, thinly sliced red onions, fresh lemon juice, fresh mint, garlic paste, fresh dill, and give a good mix.
