Hello everyone. Welcome to Miss Best Place. Tonight I’m going to make y’all some tried andrue rice krispie treats. Now, you don’t need my recipe cuz it’s on the box. So, I’m going to read the ingredients to you. We’ve got three tablespoon of butter, 40 large jetpuffed marshmallows, or 5 and 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows, which is what I had. And I got these at the Dollar Tree today. They have a little bit of a flavor to them. Uh but they’re I thought they would be pretty, so that’s what I’m using. And this is a big um measuring cup here that holds five cups. And I’ve got it overloaded. Six cups of Rice Krispy cereal. And it says three tablespoons of butter. I’m going to use I’m probably going to end up using this whole stick of butter. So, first thing we’re going to do is we’re going to turn our pan on and get it a little hot. Not scorching hot, but hot enough to melt this butter. Some of this butter is going to go in this pan here. So, let’s measure out three tablespoons cuz I think it’s going to need I’m going to put one, two, three, four tablespoons. That’s half a cup. And the other butter I am going to take it and I’m going to smear it all in my pan, my glass dish. This is a 13 n 13 by9 in glass baking dish. This is a no bake recipe. Once you heat all this together and put it in this pan, you are done. You just let it cool off, cut it into squares, and you are ready to go. Got that greased up good. Save that cuz I’m probably going to use it. All right, let me get me a good old spatula and stir that butter around. Now, some of the recipes I’ve seen call for brown butter. You can brown it if you like. It’s going to give it a little bit of a deeper flavor. We’re not going for gourmet rice krispies. We’re just going for the good old Rice Krispie treats that you and I had when we were kids growing up. Probably had them in school, um, at parties, at grandma’s house. Everybody makes them. You can buy them in the stores now. You can buy them in the Dollar Tree, the Dollar General or whatever, Walmart by the cases. But I prefer homemade. They just something about them. They just taste better. All right. Now that that’s all melted in there, I am going to pour in. And the directions say just what I just told you. Melt the butter, add the marshmallows, stir completely melted, remove from the heat, and add the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated. And then put it in a buttered um glass dish or metal dish. You can use wax paper if you’re afraid it’s going to stick to it. 9 by 13 a 13 by 9 by two. All right, that’s what we got. So, here we go. That’s our marshmallows. Again, this was a 10.5 oz bag. Um, this came from the Dollar Tree. I do have another bag which I might add some extras before this recipe is over. So, And I may add more butter to it. Make it your own, people. Make it your own. And some people put vanilla flavoring in theirs. I don’t think it needs vanilla flavoring cuz these actually these marshmallows have a little bit of a ah sort of a fruity flavor to them. So, I’m going to rely on that. You can use whatever kind of marshmallows you want. You can use the jumbos, the regulars, the um flavored ones. It’s up to you. This is your treat. This is a simple recipe. We got three ingredients. Butter, marshmallows, rice krispies, and that’s it. One, two, three. Can’t get no simpler than that, folks. Now, these are a little bit cheaper brand marshmallows than what I normally use. So, I hope that they work good. I mean, marshmallows are marshmallows, right? But butter in there. Okay. Never have too much butter. So, that would make five teaspoons of butter. Five teaspoon of turn it up a little bit. This usually doesn’t take more than about 10 minutes to make. Those rice krispies are going to get all stirred in. I even saw a recipe the other day where they made them in the oven. Never made them in the oven. But you can. [Music] All right, let’s see here. It looks like it’s almost melted. Better stir them a little bit more. You want to be all the way melted. See what that tastes like. Those are going to be good. All right, here we go. It says to take it off the heat. I’m just going to pour my That string you like cheese. Look at that. And this because the marshmallows were a little colored. This is going to give it a little bit of a pretty color. sort of a pink pink and green and white or pink and not really green like a baby green maybe. You just turn it, stir it, turn it, stir it. Now, at this point, you could throw in some extra marshmallows. um and and them not be all the way melted in. Think I’m just going to leave it like it is. And you can put some vanilla flavoring in it before you put these in if you want to to give it a little bit extra flavor, but I don’t think it needs it. All right, I’ve got my 13 by9 by 2 in baking dish. They sort of look pink now since all the marshmallows are melted. Let’s put some butter on there so it doesn’t stick to it. When I was doing the cornflake candy, I told y’all I don’t mash out my cornflake candy. I do it in little balls. You could do this in balls, too. You could even put it in some little cupcake papers if you wanted to for it to be nice and neat. said got that butter on there. Oh, I can hear them popping. Now, I will skimp on a few things when I’m baking, but I ain’t going to skimp on the Rice Krispies because that’s why it’s called Rice Krispy Treats. You got to have the Rice Kellogg’s Rice Krispy Treats. And there they are, folks. I’m going to let these cool. I’ve got it all mashed out in the pan. And when I come back, I’m going to cut these up for you. And we’re going to taste it. Okay, I think they’ve cooled enough. It don’t take but just a few minutes. And we’re making the Rice Krispie treats. The recipe is on the box. This is a family size box. I was going to tell y’all about my saving some money on these. So, I was at the Piggly Wiggly. They had a small 9 oz box. It was six something. Then they had a 12 oz box. Yeah, the 12 oz box was 7, let’s just say 750. Then I seen the family size box, which is 18 oz and it was 750. So I got this big box. It’s still a little pricey, but 750 for the biggest box in the store versus only a dollar difference in the smallest box. So y’all look at your prices when you’re shopping, and sometimes you can get a better deal by getting a bigger box. All right, I’m going to cut these up. And you can make them into balls if you like. Um, whatever you want. It’s up to you. That butter I saved comes in handy. That way they don’t stick. I just did a video of a small haul from the Dollar Tree. Did y’all know that the Dollar Tree is not a dollar anymore? Yeah, it changed a while back to 125. Well, I went in there today and I was looking around and I was like, “What the heck?” So, the Dollar Tree now starts off at $1.50 and goes up to five or 10 or whatever they want to charge. So, I was thinking I might could get some of those things at the Walmart cheaper now. I know inflation plays its toll on the economy, but things are coming down. They’re coming down a lot what they used to be. I’m not going to waste all y’all’s time with y’all watching me cut every one of these up. Let’s get one of these out and let’s taste one. It still need to cool a bit more. That marshmallow will set like concrete. So, here we go, man. Can’t beat that for the stick. Fast, easy treat. Three ingredients, y’all. Three ingredients. Now, if you want to complicate it, you can. You can add more stuff to it. But why mess up a good thing? This is the best you can get right here. Thank y’all for coming by.
