
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ⅛ teaspoon salt (one pinch)
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon powder
- ¼ C non dairy milk (like soymilk or oatmilk)
- ¼ C of unsweetened applesauce
- ¼ C date syrup or dark maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ C of chopped walnuts (optional)
- ½ C Chocolate chips (optional)
Equipment
- Food processor or mixing bowl
- Spatula
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Baking silicone pan or silicone muffin mold
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F
- Food processor method: Add all ingredients and pulse a few times until just combined. Mixing bowl method: Whisk the dry ingredients together first, then stir in the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Last, add by hand the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough either with a spatula or ¼ C, and drop it into a cooking sheet. Make sure to leave some space in between.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving or eating.
- This recipe yields 6 biscuits.

Hi – thanks for this! Quick question – you say add all ingredients to food processor and pulse. But then you say add dry ingredients to a bowl, mix well, then add wet ingredients.
What are we supposed to pulse in the processor?
