It’s literally just blood. Probably wasn’t bled correctly after it was caught. You’re fine

Little blood vessels and varicose veins. Called “sashi” sometimes. Fish may have been stressed when killed (often the case in large net fishing especially for yellowfin) and/or not bleed correctly. I wouldn’t be selling it for the nigiri but it won’t hurt you. We usually take pieces with this and chop to tartare.

Sometimes in life you just got to grip it, rip it, and hope for the best.

I’ve never seen veins in my sushi whether salmon or other fish. I assume the sushi I’ve eaten all my life was simply served with pieces that were aesthetically pleasing or veins removed. Or aesthetically pleasing on the side that was displayed. Or I simply never noticed because the veins were tiny.

If you got this already prepared, it’s gotta make you question the chef.
