    I just bought a tin and was looking forward to it. Love the Trader Joes calamari.

    the sunflower oil was very overpowering to me

    For 1.50 I’d clear the shelf even though I also am not a huge fan of sunflower oil.

    The nice thing about calamari is it takes marinades very well, so you can make it any flavor you want for any dish you want to make

    I don’t love these guys, either. Don’t let a less-than-desired experience with them dissuade you from trying other brands and preparations.

    I couldn’t believe how chewy/tough these were. I had trouble eating just one lol

    They carry a different brand where I am but it likely very close (Humboldt squid in sunflower oil). Very much an ingredient and not a 2am over the kitchen sink can. I marinade it a put it in some shin black or maruchan ramen with spices and veg of choice, makes a decent lunch.

    I love them over rice with furikake, chili crisp, kewpie mayo and green onions.
