On my last day in Korea, my fridge was empty, so I had a proper meal at a nearby restaurant, and at night, I went to the CVS to buy some Ramyeon, and I also bought 3 (because 2+1) of these small 60g kimchi packs. And well, I noticed it tastes kinda better than Kimchi from those big packs. I would usually buy a 1.3kg pack at NoBrand and eat it for a long time and when it turns too sour I would use the rest for Kimchi jjigae, but it doesn't taste as good as these small packs (even if it's from the same brand). Is it just me or did anyone else notice it? I wonder, why is it…

I don’t see the vegan label. So that’s probably why. Authentic kimchi contains fish. Especially dried ansjovis or shrimps. IMO way better than what is sold in bigger amounts but without the fish. I try to avoid the vegan ones as much as possible.
Assuming I have access to an hmart should I look for this over the other stuff? There’s too many choices on the shelf and I never know what to pick.
yeah the bibigo kimchi in the jar is good too
Yes! I always buy Jongga kimchi and the small pouches taste way better than the big ones or the plastic jars things… those taste good, too, but not quite as good as the small pouches.
I think so! I think it’s the fact that you know it’s a limited commodity and you don’t have that giant container of it 😂
