I retired from the military 14 years ago and haven’t been back in a commissary in many years. I turned a corner and this abomination caught my eye. MREs were never a joy to consume…and could always find a way to take a food you loved and distort it.

Except that super salty cheese and those dry-ass crackers. I loved that garbage.

Anyway…a pizza MRE. Any of you younger folks have any field experience with this? I was seriously considering trying it…but I wasn’t paying $16 for it.

Wild that someone would pay $16 for these, I had to eat them for 8 months straight once *(and probably 30 cumulative)* and all I got out of it was Crohn’s disease lol.

I was gonna say those MRE pizzas ain’t too bad. I mean, it’s no Joe’s Pizza but it doesn’t taste too bad for something made to last.

  3. It’s only a crime if you actually paid $16 for that.

Got those for “free” all the time while in the Air Force. I had 6 various M.R.E’s in my room just in case of an emergency. I can still taste the jalapeno cheese spread and the powdered cocoa or fruit drink mix.. 🤤😋

Be careful you don’t eat those often. they essentially have several tablets of Imodium in each serving so if you eat too many you’ll be backed up enough to need a whole bottle of magnesium citrate to clear the blockage or 4 shots of morphine to lay a brick

  6. The best MRE’s ive had are the breakfast ones.

really though unless you just want to try it for the hell of it, dont bother paying that much for one.

The level of preservatives in one of these makes Mcdonalds seem organic by comparison, its a fine enough meal if you got nothing else, thats it.

this is so funny because I was looking up a copycat recipe for the MRE vanilla pound cake the other day. like it wasn’t great but I haven’t had any of that stuff in 20 years and it was my favorite lol

Since others have confirmed it’s “not that bad” for what it is I’ll let that charge slide. Guilty of being overpriced.

    “COMMERCIAL RESALE IS UNLAWFUL.”
It quite literally *is* a crime.

I didn’t have to pay for the hundreds of MREs I’ve consumed. Lucky me.

  12. I really liked the lemon pound cake MRE, but it was a rarity. The pizza reminded me of those “combos” snacks.

  13. I can’t judge if it’s a crime unless it’s out onto a tray.

That’s not just a pizza, it’s highly advanced food engineering with decades of research behind it

I found some MRE’s in my garage from the mid 2000’s. My brother apparently “tactically acquired” then when he was in the marines.

Not guilty if used as intended in the field. Extremely guilty if bought and eaten by a random civilian. Speaking as a civilian who never served.
