TL;DR: Before booking Barr, should I consider any other spots if I’m looking for a tasting menu in Copenhagen (and Malmö and Aarhus) under $300 USD (2000 DKK or $250 euros) for a nice birthday experience?

I hope this question is appropriate for this subreddit. I’ll be visiting Copenhagen for the first time and wish to treat my partner to a nice meal experience for their big birthday coming up. All of the 2 and 3-stars seem to be over $300 USD for the menu, and that’s over my budget, unfortunately. I scanned the subreddit for cheaper fine dining and Barr came up the most. It looks very approachable at around $111 for tasting menu. But I’m curious if I’m overlooking another great restaurant within $300 USD. Malmö looks close, I’ll also visit Aarhus.

Udtryk is excellent and I think still just about in this price range
Copenhagen is an expensive city there’s no way around it, and you stated your budget. Still [Jordnær ](https://restaurantjordnaer.dk/mad-vin/)is one of (if not the) best 3 stars we’ve been to. If there’s a meal i would splurge on every time is that one. Staying on budget my vote goes to Sushi Anaba.

Went to Barr on a trip last year and I didn’t love it. I felt the food was pretty average.
I heard Lucifer really like Geranium
What site is that?
Frank is excellent value and I’d recommend that over Barr. Mielcke and Hurtigkarl is an excellent option- they fly under the radar.
