Rita’s Italian Ice to open in Franklin Street Social year-round

Rita’s Italian Ice, Pa.’s favorite spot for Italian ice and gelati, is coming to the Franklin Street Social − and it’s going to be open year round.

According to an announcement from the Franklin Street Social, Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard will be joining the food hall as one its newest stalls, taking over the former Noodle King space on the first floor.

“Rita’s always puts the customer’s happiness first and values fresh, quality products just as we do here at Franklin St. Their community driven and locally operated staff is thrilled to serve Franklin St. Social customers this upcoming season,” the announcement read.

Recently, Franklin Street Social partners Ethan Greer and Jordan Illyes welcomed the food hall’s pizza stall, a New York-style pizza stand called Franchesca’s which offers pie by the slice, espresso and made-to-order Italian soda.

Greer said he anticipiates Rita’s will open sometime this holiday season.
