Hello r/FoodLosAngeles!

I cannot tell you how much I love meeting so many of you and talking to you! I have long felt that the best part of this job (chef) is the part where I get to interact with people who eat the food, and man is it amazing meeting you all and hearing about your stories and talking to you about one of my favorite topics – FOOD!!

So this weekend I doubled my capacity, so I will be shocked if I sell out (I wouldn't mind if you accept that challenge!)

The food:

I call them "LA Cheesesteaks", smoked beef short rib, smoked and confit beef cheeks, onions, bell peppers, garlic and cheddar cheese on fresh baked, handmade rolls, with a handmade beef jus dipping sauce for $10, or 2 for $18. I have chips for $1, I had to sacrifice the space for sodas, for more room for sandwiches.

I will also have a few pint containers of smoked beef tallow I rendered from the BBQ for $5, again. They make great flavor bombs for soups and hot (temperature) sauces, but my wife and I LOVE making fresh tortillas with the tallow. It brings a subtle smoke and beef flavor that is quite nice.

I was shocked how many people were interested last week and I will happily bring more this week.

The tallow is like a secret menu item, I wont advertise it at the stand, you gotta ask for it.

I will also have banana bread from a chef buddy of mine, here's what he wrote about it: “Mexican vanilla extract, pillow soft red banana bread topped with pecans. Hint of fall spice”

The Bananna bread will be $5

On Saturday, Handel's ice cream will also be fairly close by for another dessert option.

Location:

Saturday: outside Handel's Handmade Ice cream at 353 N Pass Ave, Burbank, CA 91505. I'll set up just north of the building on W Oak. I haven't been there before, so I am not 100% certain on where exactly, but I will post pictures on instagram once I am set up.

Sunday: we will be at my usual location on Hollywood Blvd and N Berendo across from Barnsdall Art Park from 12 to 7 (or until we sell out)

Insta: /Big_Beautiful_BBQ (no politics behind the name, I made the name before the similarly named bill)
