The 2022 BDX price is outrageous. Do you think it’s worth it?

At the prices they want for it, not a vintage I’d be buying if it wasn’t our wedding year. But it is, so I’ve bought some nicer wines than I usually buy and just gritted my teeth. Otherwise, as always with Bordeaux, backfill backfill backfill.

Be more selective in this year, and probably avoid the top chateaus IMO, which generally overpriced their 2022s. They might be good wines, but with how much wine in circulating from older vintages which were also excellent(2018, 2019, and 2020), why not grab those for cheaper?
That Lynch Bages looks pretty good though.

Never was. Especially from a chain wholesaler, lol.

Those are all very prestigious Chateaus along with them being Grand Crus. Are you aware that 2022 was considered one of the greatest years for Bordeaux literally ever? Extremely high quality wines were produced at very low rates. It makes all the difference. Yea theres a some markup but calling this outrageous is that in itself. Are you going to go get a license to purchase at wholesale prices or something? Not to mention tariffs already in place. It costs to drink costly products.
Americans will sit there and tell you 2022 Lynch Bages Grand Cru for 150 is “overpriced” and then go buy a random wine that has a goofy label for 6x markup

Nope, wait for Costco to discount/clear them out. If you get FOMO just buy it as needed online. There’s no bordeaux available at Costco that is so rare that you can’t easily find it online

Glad they finally added the 2022s. They have been sitting on a lot of 21s.
Great vintage plus tarrifs. The Palmer was 350 in 20 (great vintage) and 21 (poor vintage).

Wow chateau Palmer prices just keep going up and up and up every year it seems like.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion here, but Bordeaux is rarely worth the price.

Whoa! It’s nowhere near BDX but I’m sitting on 60 cases of 2022 Santa Barbara county Cabernet that I’m trying to decide to release next year or in 2027. Mine will only go for $40 or less.
