2 pounds any combination of apples about 4 large or 5 medium, rinsed and cored
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup apple cider can substitute apple juice (unsweetened)
1 cinnamon stick * (3 inch) optional
1 tablespoon bourbon or apple brandy Calvados, optional

Today we’re making my easy no peel applesauce. This is so easy to make and the flavor is incredible. Check out the texture. It’s smooth as can be. And again, there’s no peeling. We’re going to start with these beautiful apples. My daughter and I picked these the other day and using freshpicked apples takes this over the top. And hey, it’s apple season. Core them, slice them, put them in a pot, then add lemon juice, some apple cider, and throw in a cinnamon stick. And then for flavor, I like to add bourbon. You can add apple brandy or leave it out altogether. Stir it, bring it to a simmer, cover it, and let it cook for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, carefully remove the cover. You’re going to get a nice apple facial. Make sure you remove that cinnamon stick because we’re going to blend this applesauce. Look how soft everything is. Transfer it into a blender. I have my Vitamix here. I love this machine. It gets the job done right. I don’t add any sweeteners to this applesauce. The flavor is so good just the way it is. This is a delicious applesauce.
