Krug 171e half bottle. The base vintage for this edition is 2015, with the oldest being 2000. 2015 was a warm sunny vintage that resulted in rich, ripe and powerful wines. Pinot Noir was generally outstanding while Chardonnay had mixed results.

The wine is generous and perfumed on the nose, notes of yellow apple, lemon curd, brioche, and hazelnut. On the palate, it’s quite textural and concentrated with a delicious saline chalky backbone and long lingering finish. Although the base vintage was very warm and ripe, I felt the acid is still ripping and makes the wine very lively. Really delicious stuff.

This paired beautifully with watching Bruce Wayne conquer his fears.

Great wine, great film, great glass (the Josephine I’m assuming).
