Chef Roy Ner’s Jeru restaurant in London’s Mayfair closed its doors last night (6 August) after four years of operation.

The restaurant posted a statement on its website saying: “After four incredible years, Jeru Mayfair will be closing its doors, with our final service on 6 August 2025.

“To all our guests, friends and staff, thank you for every meal shared, every celebration, and every memory created. You’ve made these years truly unforgettable.”

The site served Mediterranean sharing plates across three floors in Mayfair’s Berkeley Street, fusing fine dining cooking techniques with Moroccan and North African flavours.

Dishes included wagyu beef tartare, slow-cooked Welsh lamb shoulder and pistachio and halva delight.

The lower level housed Layla lounge and bar, which served cocktails, light bites and sharing platters.

Jeru also had its own bakery, serving freshly baked bread, salads and cakes during the day, transforming into a wine bar in the evening, offering light bites and small plates.

Israeli-born chef Ner first cooked in the restaurants of Tel Aviv and Caesarea, and moved from Australia to London in 2021 to launch Jeru. His 18-year Australian journey saw him lead Sydney fine dining restaurant Aria for seven years before founding Nour restaurant in the same city.

He also enjoyed a stint in the US, partnering with chefs Tim Hollingsworth (French Laundry) and Chard Robinson (Tartine Bakery), before returning to Australia to open ZaZaTa in Brisbane.
