This will be the fourth attempt at a smoothie bar in this gym, the last six months, maybe a year tops. It’s not visible from the street, so the only customers are gym members, and most don’t buy smoothies often enough to keep it afloat. Plus, the hardcore crowd that really wants protein after a workout usually just shakes up their own powder in those bottles with the little metal ball. They’re not lining up to pay $7 a pop.

I feel like I want to warn this guy not to throw his money away.

Damn, can’t really blame anyone but themselves at this point

maybe somebody should try something like donuts

LOL, I know this place, had the exact same thought. I’m not there at the busiest times, but the crowd I see just doesn’t seem like the kind for this to work.

Bruh that LA fitness is barely hanging on, no cleaning wipes during peak times, MAchines always broken.

$7 ain’t bad compared to a lot of other smoothie spots, but they gotta do some advertising and probably accept 3rd party delivery to get anywhere. Surprised some giant protein brand doesn’t take it over for the marketing aspect alone.

Poor girl was duped into that pic. Probably was paid $20

Maybe they should stop the smoothies and maybe a little shop of things they’d need at the gym? I dont know maybe a smoothie spot just isn’t the vibe

I just want to know when they will finally fix the calf machine. Then I’ll cancel my membership and move on.

I used to go to a gym that also had a protein shake bar. But their thing was that they would have tons of tubs of different brands and flavors. I got to try many shakes and pre-workouts without having to commit to tubs that way.

That gym is near my home. I joined for the pool. Within A few months, I noticed a brown ring around the water edge. I got annoyed and scratched”Fuck you” in the grime with you finger nail. I figured someone would report the vulgar word and it would get the pool cleaned. The “Fuck you” was still there 5 days later. That was my sign to cancel my membership. Sad to see it’s only gotten worse

I’d put a little self checkout market in there… let me know if this one unfortunately moves on!

  12. This company looks to have either 4 or 5 other – presumably successful – locations inside LA Fitnesses in the Houston area. Maybe they actually figured out how not to fail? Still, if it’s still open in a year I’ll be shocked. The clientele at this LA Fitness never struck me as the type that will patronize a smoothie bar.

    EIGHT THREE TWO?!

Get this Houston mf out of here🗣️

    Just kidding of course😇

They have to make a better name than smoothie tbh

A lot of people equate smoothie with extra unnecessary calories these days

These smoothie bars often are loss leaders anyway. Same for gyms with hair salons massage etc. but you keep it anyway as a loss leader because it’s an amenity. But LA fitness are generally incompetent so they wouldn’t be aware of that, or would want to float one in any circumstance

  16. I felt so bad for the two gals that opened the last one. They tried so hard. I give this one a month.
