Visited this past weekend from Saturday to early Tuesday and ate a ton. I lurked for a couple months and did many searches, so this sub was invaluable in making my choices!

I saw a post the other day that posted step counts, it was 22k, 37k and 29k for the 3 full days. I always love walking and take advantage whenever I can since I'm coming from Houston and walkability is… nonexistent. Beautiful city. Okay, onto pictures.

Visited place [picture #]

  1. Duck Duck Goat [1-4]
  2. Oriole [5-8, my fave bites]
  3. Sugar Moon [9 – omg so goooood, it was a trek but worth it and we'd go again
  4. Kurimu [10]
  5. Au Cheval [11-12 -my husband's 1st time visiting so we had to go, just as good as I remembered]
  6. Pat's Pizza downtown [13]
  7. Swadesi [14]
  8. Luke's Beef [15]
  9. Chiu Quon Bakery [16]
  10. MCCB [17 – omg the chicken tendon dish…]

Everything was amazing! We stayed downtown but next time we'll stay the area west of it.. only advantage was the extra walking along the Riverwalk each day for extra steps 🙂

I missed a few spots because of Monday closures but will get to them next time. Maxwell's Trading, the ahogada at Xoco, Taco omakase at Canino..

Yup, that’s how you do it.

    Looks great…thanks!

You did a great job! But definitely ahogada at Xoco next time. I have to order mine “mild” because I’m weak and can’t enjoy it any hotter. And I immediately remove the sandwich halves from the broth and put them on the saucer under the bowl to preserve the bread ends crunchiness. God I love that gd torta

Those were some good dishes and picture you took from MCCB, and almost everything on their men is great. However, I see that many non-chinese/asian custmers never order their signature/specialty dish, so Ima let you guys in on the secret, and if you ever get a chance to go again:

The Specialty Grill Whole Fish. You get a 1 choice from 4 different flavors: Special Whole Garlic, Numb-Spicy, Chinese Sour Picle, Malaysia Satay. I personally like the numb-spicy (MALA) flavor, but you can’t go wrong with any of them. It comes in a gigantic artistic metal tray, with crafted legs, fit for Kings to be shared, and the perfectly cooked fish sits in a shallow bath of the flavor your choose. This dish absolutely SLAPS. It’s grilled fish so it’s not like its anything most americans haven’t eaten before, the only thing that’ll be surprising is the flavor, the cooking method, and the presentation. It is meant to be shared, so unless you can eat a lot, this is meant to be shared between 2-4 people imo.

I also really like as an appetizer Signature Dry Chili Chicken (can you tell I like spicy food?). If you guys like spicy food definitely have to give this a try!

  5. Tell me more about the chicken tendon dish 🤔🤔🤔

  6. And Luke’s is great! If you had the opportunity to trek to a Johnnie’s Beef you’ll have had the best 🫣🤭 imho

Can you describe the Oriole dishes and experience? Wondering if they lived up to the hype.
