Yesterday I was told my steak was a little too burnt. Redemption Ribeye.

Looks great. But if it means you get to have steak for a third night in a row, it’s terrible! Do it again!

8.5/10 Near perfect. Spot-on MR and excellent sear. Only real note is that the sear is very slightly uneven. Would love to see raw pics, but looks like a wonderful trim and fat ratio. Consider yourself redeemed and then some. Best steak I’ve seen on reddit today.

Also, prime or choice? Where’d you get the beef and for how much?

The fuck it wasn’t, that looks damn delicious

Maybe just my opinion, but not nearly burnt enough.

That crust looks perfect, the cook is perfect, maybe a touch too much gray band if I’m being picky, but this beats 90% of steaks I’ve had at restaurants for sure. What changes did you make on this one? Looks fantastic!

    Cut yours how you want.

Myself, I find the cap and cut it separately from the rest of the ribeye. The cap is like butter with a crust.

I always love it when I make mistakes, learning opportunities are boundless. It gives me an excuse to try new techniques and new ideas. So much fun when it involves steak!

Is this a ribeye without the cap? Looks like a strip to me.

You, sir (or madam), are vindicated

Nice. What’s the seasoning and process?

Oh, nope this one is burnt too. You must send it to me overnight for further scrutiny

If you need a reason to try again: The fat on the right tip could use a little more char.

But for the record: I would enjoy this steak very much, so thanks for the invite which obviously got lost in the mail….where’s the dinner party again?

only complaint..the fat areas need more time hitting the pan

    I’m like 99% sure that’s a NY Strip not a Ribeye

that white line in the fat means you didn’t cook it enough
