I am now officially part of the Traeger family!
After 3 months deliberating (and losing days of summer here in the UK) I finally decided to go ahead and purchase my very first Traeger pellet smoker. thebbqshop.co.uk had a great deal on the Silvertron which I understand was a Costco only model. I was looking at the Silvertron vs the Pro 575 and I am really happy with my decision. The extra grilling space, the closed door cabinets for storage and all my extras and the grease bucket kept internally (stop the cats getting at it), and the WiFi technology.. all in all very pleased. Only issue was lumbering the 70kg package into the house as it started chucking it down!
The unboxing and build process was surprisingly straightforward. Everything fit together nicely, the instructions were clear, and the quality of the materials and parts really stood out. It feels solid and well-made, which makes me even more confident in the Traeger brand. Picked up some Pecan pellets to get me started.
Got a few pictures and videos to start document the beginning of the life-long smoking journey. If you are thinking of buying a smoker go ahead and get it done! Can't wait to get this thing fired up this weekend, Picked up some Angus Oink rubs and some sauces too.
just got to pray for some sunshine here in the UK!

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!
If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!
*What seasoning did you use?
*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?
*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?
Traeger on!

Just got my Silverton a few months ago, it’s a really good unit. You’re going to love it!! Make sure you have a shop vac to clean up the ash every few smokes, and a decent degreaser! You’ll love the food it puts out. Enjoy man!
