I cleaned very thoroughly the clogged up grease with a toothbrush, after letting it soak in 70% alcohol.

It is my first time thoroughly cleaning it since I bought the kamado Joe classic many years ago. I thought why not season it like a cast iron pan.

Deep cleans like this makes it look new and shinning again.

    I just did mine on my BGE for the first time in 12 years, I did a “quick” clean once before, but this time I took the screws out and bought wire brushes that work with my drill. It’s now spotless. I also have a KJ2 with the aluminum control tower. I have come to realize cast iron is far superior.
