Somebody whispered “Italian Brainrot,” and like any self-respecting adult, Ad Nut panicked. It was prepared for mafia knockoffs over foamy espresso or even a cursed Sopranos reboot. Because all that sounds reasonable. But not this. Not a deranged fever dream of faux-Italian culinary mutant, Chimpanzini Bananini, Bombardino Crocodilo, with a bottomless meme loop and the soundtrack that might just raise an entire generation on angst and autotune.

Well, well, well.

When KFC brought back one of its hit menus ever, Chizza, in 2025, the brand decided to ride the wave of Italian Brainrot, the surreal AI-generated meme trend flooding Gen Alpha feeds. It’s known for animal-like oddities and nonsensical fake Italian names and is the internet’s latest cultural obsession. And so KFC Thailand, never one to let chaos go untasted, hurled its half-chicken, half-pizza Frankenstein into the blender. Out came Chizzalulu Chizzalala, a bizarrely odd creature with an identity crisis so severe Freud would’ve taken notes. It could be fried chicken. Or pizza. Only one way to find out: eat him.

KFC Thailand’s agencies Publicis, indie shop Bananas and Brilliant & Million have leaned all the way in to release a music video, DOOH blitz, Roblox invasion and influencer mayhem courtesy of Babyjolystar and Not Bangueng. Ad Nut is wondering if, at some point, someone in KFC Thailand’s marketing team asked if this absurdity makes sense. The answer: absolutely not. Which is, naturally, the point.

Absurd, loud, and gloriously nonsensical, the work doesn’t bother to be relatable and that’s exactly what might make it click with Gen Alpha. Ad Nut has concluded that humans, honestly, are a spectacle. They’ll tear each other apart over politics and culture, and kill over religion and land, but mash two foods together and christen it genius? Suddenly, it’s ecstasy. Sigh. Ad Nut shakes its furry little head and wonders how they made it to the top of the food chain.
