COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Restaurateur Josh Dalton, the chef behind Speck Italian Eatery, Veritas, and Rosalita’s, is bringing a new dining experience to Columbus’ Scioto Mile.

Dalton announced plans Wednesday to open a Mediterranean-inspired concept inside the former restaurant space at 229 Civic Center Drive, located in Bicentennial Park beside the Scioto Mile Fountain.

The yet-to-be-named restaurant is scheduled to open in spring 2026, just ahead of the fountain’s summer reopening.

The former restaurant at the location, Milestone 229, closed at the end of last year.

The concept will showcase flavors from Barcelona to Lebanon, with a menu highlighting small plates, dips and spreads, coastal entrees, handhelds, and desserts.

Dalton said the menu is designed to evoke the shared culinary traditions of the Mediterranean coast.

In addition to the food offerings, the restaurant will feature a robust cocktail and wine program, with drinks created to complement Center City’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area.

The venue will seat nearly 100 indoors, with a lounge and spacious patio available during warmer months.

Dalton’s restaurants have become staples across central Ohio, and the new addition is expected to bolster the Scioto Mile’s role as a premier downtown dining and entertainment destination.
